Before I got serious, my life involved working on the computer 10 hours a day, and crashed on the couch for 3-4 hours a day. Obviously, this was the American lifestyle required to survive… however, I wasn’t surviving at all, my health was deteriorating before my very eyes… My diet was somewhat healthy, with periods of comfort food. When my family spent a lot of time in the hospital over the past couple years, things only got worse. I ate for convience, which is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to quality food. The stress, weight gain, depression piled up to 275 pounds on a 180-200 pound frame. My gallbladder started acting up, my diegestion was suffering and my overall health was in the pits.
As mentioned in my story… I picked up mountain biking as a side hobby. I knew the solution, get out and exersise! But this task was a little tougher than I first anticipated! I couldn’t even make it around the block! A fraction of a mile had me praying for mercy!
However, I was determined to keep it up. The first month, I didn’t lose any weight at all… I was able to get my endurance up to about 4-8 miles a day on my own, with no supplements. It was a lot of hard work! Even though I wasn’t losing any weight, I was re-building leg muscles, crucial for burning calories! The truth was, I was losing weight, but building muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat, so obviously, I was replacing fat with muscle for the first month.
My biggest challenge was energy… After only 8 miles, I would be destroyed and burned out… making it tougher to get motivated the next day due to the pain and fatique. That’s when I added Green Tea Hawaii to my routine. My goal was to use a product that gave me the energy to progress in mileage and lose weight at the same time, without becoming drained. It was really important that I keep working my job during this lifestyle transition as well, with out being completely burned out mentally.
I have 2 (23oz) water bottles attached to my bike, which I usually would have to refill one of the bottles during my work outs. There are handy water fountains every 8 miles along the River Trail. So I would stuff my pouch with Green Tea Hawaii packets and use them while refilling my bottles. They say to consume 2 packs a day, however, it would take a 1.5 packs to fill my 23oz bottles, so I was consuming 3 packs within a 2 hour ride. But I tell you, I was a monster! My miles doubled, then tripled! All while feeling totally energized and ready for more!

I tracked every bike ride on my Endomondo GPS during this experiment. As you can see, my endurance skyrocketed! I started doing 10-14 miles, then 16-20 miles a day! This was due to the energy Green Tea Hawaii gave me. And the best part was how I didn’t feel drained after each ride, I actually had more energy than before I started! Allowing me to take care of my web clients more effeciently as well. Keeping my energy levels up, while building my endurance gave me the advantage over my weight… I could peddal my but off for up to 3 hours and still feel great when I got back into the office!
